Marie Morales
Owner & Tutor
I still remember my third grade tutor, Stephanie, who helped me do my homework once a week. This tutor motivated me to read and do my math work, two areas I struggled with in particular. I loved my time with her and by the fourth grade I was able to implement practices that she taught me and work independently from there. With that experience in mind, I was tutored again in High School for geometry then again for Algebra.
Education is so important to me and I attribute that fact to my parents always supporting me by finding tutors to help through any struggles I faced. Both of my parents were first and second generation born Americans and coming from immigrant parents, learning all you can through education and life circumstances was a top priority.
Now, I am grateful to have children of my own that I can encourage in their studies. As a mother that home-schools my children, their education is completely in my hands and my most cherished moments are when I see their eyes light up in understanding and excitement for what they have learned. With that, I want to motivate other children to do well in any areas where they struggle and help create good, long-lasting habits which will allow them to thrive all the way into adulthood.
GRACE
Hi! My name is Grace Klentzin, and I am so excited to be working with you!
I currently have my AA in Early Childhood Education and am deciding where to continue my college education. I have loved working with children for as long as I can remember. I have been a babysitter, daycare helper, and an intern at an elementary school.
Since I was in middle school, I have helped my friends and children younger than me with understanding their schoolwork, and now I have the opportunity to do that formally! I specialize in math, but I also tutor in other areas such as writing and language arts.
When I am not tutoring, I am working as a swim instructor for children ages 3-12 or coaching my U10 soccer team! These are two areas that have helped me so much in learning how to teach kids.
In my free time, I love to go to thrift shops, coffee shops, and spend time with my friends anywhere and everywhere. I also spend time at my church either volunteering, attending, or hanging out with my young adult group.
EVA
Ever since I was in elementary school, I have always wanted to be a teacher. People tell me the interest in teaching was bound to happen, as both my mom and dad are educators. As a kid, I would watch my parents prepare, study, and grade assignments and it all seemed very fun to me. Occasionally, I would ask to assist with the grading. Now that I am older, I enjoy teaching others, not just because it is fun, but because I have a passion for helping others learn!
One fact about me is that I have never attended public school, I have grown up being homeschooled. I believe one-on-one teaching really shaped who I am as a student. Naturally, I am a quiet person so classroom settings would be overwhelming for me at times and I never asked questions. I felt more comfortable learning independently and being vocal about all my confusion to my teacher alone. I know there are kids just like I was, or students who would just benefit from extra attention, which is why I decided to become a tutor.
Some other fun facts about me: I am the oldest child in my family (so basically I have been a tutor my whole life, haha!). My favorite kind of books to read are autobiographies. I enjoy playing guitar and have been playing since I was eight. My favorite flavor of ice cream is chocolate malted crunch. Also, I love nature!
I look forward to each student I get to meet through tutoring!
AARON
Hi! I am currently a college student attending Cal State Fullerton with the goal of earning my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
I love math and solving real world problems. The ability to teach what I love is such a blessing that I have continued to cherish since I joined WM Tutoring.
When I am not in school, tutoring, or working at Lowes, I enjoy numerous past times. I love watching and playing sports, playing video games, and spending time with loved ones.
I am also notably a very energetic and outgoing person, and I love to make people laugh. My most important fact about me is that rooted in my person is a strong faith in Jesus and a love for helping others.
I look forward to getting to know my students and helping them in their journeys towards success!
MAELIA
My relationship with school has been a rollercoaster from the start. From undertanding what I'm learning, to not having a clue of what's being taught. Having that extra help outside the classroom, definitely allowed me to regain my understanding and confidence in learning. From someone who's struggled in certain areas, it became so much easier for me when I had a tutor. School may not always be a smooth ride, but there’s always a way to find the answers you need!
Currently I am a third year student at The University of California, Riverside with a major in Liberal Studies and minor in Education. I plan to work with students young and old and help ease learning in a way I would have enjoyed.
Outside of school and work, I enjoy random drives to the beach, binge watching movies and TV shows. I can't wait to learn more by your student's side and become a better educator in the process.
VANESSA
School has always been a love of mine. Okay, so some years we had a love/hate relationship. To better put it, I love learning. Whether it be a random topic like the history of cowboys to something important like the respiratory system in the human body. My favorite subject is history, specifically U.S History.
I’m a big advocate of “not yet.” If a child doesn’t comprehend something, that’s okay. It doesn’t mean they’ll never get it, it just means not yet. One day they will get it. And it’s encouraging voices that will help them get them there.
I am currently attending community college studying to become a medical assistant. My dream is to open pregnancy resource centers and safe homes for single moms and their kids to escape domestic violence.
Fun Facts About Me: I am the oldest of 8 kids. I’ve been singing since I was born (according to my mom). My favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, but the 2005 version. My favorite book series is Wars of the Realm by Chuck Black.
MICHELLE
Hi, my name is Michelle Hur! I am currently a junior at Martin Luther King High School. Growing up, I have always aspired to be an educator, and after high school, I would love to venture into the STEM field. My goal is to help other rising students discover their strengths and pursue their aspirations, as I know how difficult school can be, coming from someone who has been in the public school system since preschool!
I have always been one dedicating my time helping peers with their classes and school work. I love supporting others to understand new concepts and feel inspired to help them discover their own passion for learning. Education has always been one of my top priorities because it opens the mind to new perspectives and ideas, and I would love to share that opportunity with others. I also value adapting to each student’s unique needs and learning styles, because I believe everyone learns in their own way.
Some things I do throughout my week include volunteering with younger students at my local church, preparing for fun events within my school, and hanging out with my friends. My passions include thrifting, listening to all different types of music, and enjoying the beauties that nature has to offer. And of course, can't forget to mention that I love watching TV shows/movies, and my all-time favorite has to be Gilmore Girls!

SHEA
Hey! My name is Shea McCann and I am currently a senior at Notre Dame High School. After graduation I plan on moving out of state and majoring in psychology with the end goal of becoming a children’s therapist!
I have always loved school and learning new things. My all time favorite subject is English, especially writing. I have been in both public and private schools so I understand different curriculums, difficult teachers and the fear of asking for help. I became a tutor to help lift the stress of school off of students and make learning fun!
When I have free time I love hanging out with my friends, going to get coffee, and playing softball.
I can’t wait to meet and work with you all!

LAINY
Hello! For as long as I can remember, I aspired to be a teacher—until I didn’t! During my senior year of high school, I explored numerous careers outside of teaching. After my first semester away at college, I finally declared my major in Liberal Studies, realizing it was the path meant for me. The journey wasn’t always easy; in fact, during my first semester of student teaching, I faced daily challenges and tears. However, by the second semester, everything changed, and I found a sense of peace. Being the youngest of nine siblings and having been homeschooled for a significant part of my education, I have a unique perspective.
I’ve held a California K-8 teaching credential since 2008 and have experience teaching various grade levels, including, but not limited to 8th , Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades. Additionally, I’ve taken on several leadership roles within the schools where I've worked. Most recently, I had the privilege of developing an intervention program as the Academic Intervention Coordinator to support students with learning gaps caused by COVID-19. I recently made the decision to resign from this position to focus on homeschooling my own children, who are in 7th and 5th grade. I've been fortunate to tutor intermittently since I was a junior in high school, and I cherish the "lightbulb moments" when concepts finally click for students.
Outside of education, you’ll often find me in the kitchen cooking and baking, tending to my garden, enjoying a good audiobook, and spending quality time with my husband, two daughters, eight chickens, and our Schnoodle.
