Marie Morales

Owner & Tutor

I still remember my third grade tutor, Stephanie, who helped me do my homework once a week. This tutor motivated me to read and do my math work, two areas I struggled with in particular. I loved my time with her and by the fourth grade I was able to implement practices that she taught me and work independently from there. With that experience in mind, I was tutored again in High School for geometry then again for Algebra.

Education is so important to me and I attribute that fact to my parents always supporting me by finding tutors to help through any struggles I faced. Both of my parents were first and second generation born Americans and coming from immigrant parents, learning all you can through education and life circumstances was a top priority.

Now, I am grateful to have children of my own that I can encourage in their studies. As a mother that home-schools my children, their education is completely in my hands and my most cherished moments are when I see their eyes light up in understanding and excitement for what they have learned. With that, I want to motivate other children to do well in any areas where they struggle and help create good, long-lasting habits which will allow them to thrive all the way into adulthood.

GRACE

Hi! My name is Grace Klentzin, and I am so excited to be working with you!

I currently have my AA in Early Childhood Education and am deciding where to continue my college education. I have loved working with children for as long as I can remember. I have been a babysitter, daycare helper, and an intern at an elementary school.

Since I was in middle school, I have helped my friends and children younger than me with understanding their schoolwork, and now I have the opportunity to do that formally! I specialize in math, but I also tutor in other areas such as writing and language arts.

When I am not tutoring, I am working as a swim instructor for children ages 3-12 or coaching my U10 soccer team! These are two areas that have helped me so much in learning how to teach kids.

In my free time, I love to go to thrift shops, coffee shops, and spend time with my friends anywhere and everywhere. I also spend time at my church either volunteering, attending, or hanging out with my young adult group.

JONATHAN

I grew up in a family of six boys and was home-schooled my entire life. I took outside classes throughout middle school and all of high school so I still got to experience a class room setting with teachers.

Growing up it was always important to me that others not fall behind in their studies. In 5th grade I started helping friends with their math homework and thus my tutoring career began. In 7th grade I took another opportunity to be a peer tutor and helped even more kids to the point where I tutored a neighbor of mine from failing to passing with A’s in all of his classes! Math is my strongest subject I tutor in, but I also tutor history.

Fun fact about me, I’m a massive gamer as well musician so if I’m not playing games on my PS4, I’m most likely learning new songs!

EMMY

Hi, my name is Emmy! After being homeschooled for nearly my whole life, I am now pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCR. After school, I would like to pursue a career in research.

Alongside my academic endeavors, I work as a freelance photographer pursuing my artistic passion. Some of the coolest jobs I’ve had the privilege of doing have been photographing a book signing for YouTuber Damon Dominique, and being flown to Europe to photograph a wedding.

I’ve even combined my photographic and academic endeavors in the past when I taught a photography class to middle and high school students. I love all things creative, especially when I can use that creativity to impact others.

Through tutoring your students, I hope I can use that creativity to find solutions for helping your students better understand their material.

EVA

Ever since I was in elementary school, I have always wanted to be a teacher. People tell me the interest in teaching was bound to happen, as both my mom and dad are educators. As a kid, I would watch my parents prepare, study, and grade assignments and it all seemed very fun to me. Occasionally, I would ask to assist with the grading. Now that I am older, I enjoy teaching others, not just because it is fun, but because I have a passion for helping others learn!

One fact about me is that I have never attended public school, I have grown up being homeschooled. I believe one-on-one teaching really shaped who I am as a student. Naturally, I am a quiet person so classroom settings would be overwhelming for me at times and I never asked questions. I felt more comfortable learning independently and being vocal about all my confusion to my teacher alone. I know there are kids just like I was, or students who would just benefit from extra attention, which is why I decided to become a tutor.

Some other fun facts about me: I am the oldest child in my family (so basically I have been a tutor my whole life, haha!). My favorite kind of books to read are autobiographies. I enjoy playing guitar and have been playing since I was eight. My favorite flavor of ice cream is chocolate malted crunch. Also, I love nature!

I look forward to each student I get to meet through tutoring!

KEADEN

Hi! My name is Keaden Knight, and I am currently a Freshman in University. I have always enjoyed school, especially when I understand the subjects, which is why I am drawn to tutoring.

Helping people really understand the concepts they're learning so they can enjoy them is really amazing.

I grew up the oldest of four siblings in a homeschool environment, so I had plenty of practice tutoring with them.

When I began high school I began tutoring my classmates in math and science courses, which are my strong suits. I have been a counselor for multiple summer camps, so l have gotten a lot of experience teaching and working with kids.

Now I am enrolled at The Master's University, a Christian university where I am studying Computer Science and am a dedicated member of the Track and Field Team. In my free time I enjoy coding and hanging out with my teammates.

CAROLINE

Hi, I'm Caroline! I'm currently a Junior at Mission Vista Academy. After highschool, I plan to attend NYU and study child psychology. I love working with children and helping them become successful students.

My entire life I've been homeschooled. Homeschooling was sometimes a challenge for me because I’m so social, but as I've gotten older I see the benefit. I fully appreciated having that one-on-one teaching experience which I am now able to give back to students. This experience made me want to become a tutor and give the same opportunity to other students.

Some fun facts about me are, I like to spend most of my free time with my friends or my nieces and nephews. I'm also very passionate about traveling and seeing the world. My other favorite pastime is reading.

VANESSA

School has always been a love of mine. Okay, so some years we had a love/hate relationship. To better put it, I love learning. Whether it be a random topic like the history of cowboys to something important like the respiratory system in the human body. My favorite subject is history, specifically U.S History.

I’m a big advocate of “not yet.” If a child doesn’t comprehend something, that’s okay. It doesn’t mean they’ll never get it, it just means not yet. One day they will get it. And it’s encouraging voices that will help them get them there.

I am currently attending community college studying to become a medical assistant. My dream is to open pregnancy resource centers and safe homes for single moms and their kids to escape domestic violence.

Fun Facts About Me: I am the oldest of 8 kids. I’ve been singing since I was born (according to my mom). My favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, but the 2005 version. My favorite book series is Wars of the Realm by Chuck Black.

PAOLA

Hi, My name is Paola. I am currently in my third year at Cal State University of San Bernardino. I am majoring in Biology and minoring in chemistry. I chose to study biology/chemistry because it allowed me to have more time in deciding what I would like to do as a career.

I’ve always wanted to branch out into the animal sciences because of my love for marine mammals. More specifically, I wanted to work with otters. Recently my interest in makeup and skincare has introduced me to cosmetic science and now I am leaning more towards that career path.

I went to public school my whole life and every year I was always the “shy girl” and I sort of still am. I understand not wanting to speak up to ask for help. I was always too scared to ask for help and my grades suffered because of it. I wanted to become a tutor so students could be in a welcoming learning environment and feel comfortable asking any type of question.

When I am not working or studying, I like to bake for my friends and family. I also enjoy online shopping and watching tv shows.

MAELIA

My relationship with school has been a rollercoaster from the start. From undertanding what I'm learning, to not having a clue of what's being taught. Having that extra help outside the classroom, definitely allowed me to regain my understanding and confidence in learning. From someone who's struggled in certain areas, it became so much easier for me when I had a tutor. School may not always be a smooth ride, but there’s always a way to find the answers you need!

Currently I am a third year student at The University of California, Riverside with a major in Liberal Studies and minor in Education. I plan to work with students young and old and help ease learning in a way I would have enjoyed.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy random drives to the beach, binge watching movies and TV shows. I can't wait to learn more by your student's side and become a better educator in the process.

SHAVIANE

Hi! My name is Shaviane Valencia. I currently attend Liberty University Online, pursuing a BA in English with an emphasis on creative writing.

Since I was in elementary school, my favorite subject has been English. I enjoyed reading all the books and doing all the book reports.

I have a soft spot for literature because it helped me, at 12, learn English faster when I moved to the U.S. from Mexico. Through my language-learning journey, I've learned the value of having people around you to help and cheer you on.

I strive to be one of those people to the kids I get to tutor in English Language Arts or Spanish.
